Mukagali Suleimenovich Makatayev (1931-1976, real name Mukhammedkali) is a Kazakh lyric poet who has a high status for his followers, although he did not receive a decent rating at the time.

He was born on February 9, 1931 in the village of Karasaz, Raiymbek (formerly Narynkol) district, Almaty region.  There are two different information about the poet’s birthday. However, according to the documents, the poet’s birthday is celebrated on February 9. Second information: the mother of the poet Nagiman  said, “Mukagali born March 8, 1931. Because some time after my son opened the door, we were waiting for Nauryz , nauryz kozhe.”The winner of the literary prize named after Mukagali Makatayev Rasakan Askar in connection with the second birthday of the poet says:”According to the document, Mukagali was born on February 9. This testimony was written by the poet himself in connection with the election campaign of that time.”
